Tuesday rolled around,
and Simon knew he had to do something. He couldn’t get Paula to tell him
she loved him by the end of the season if she wasn’t even speaking to him.
As Simon walked into the
studio, he immediately went to find Paula. It didn’t take too long because
she was in her dressing room.
“Hey, can I talk
to you?” Simon asked, hopeful that she would at least give him a chance to explain.

“You know I didn’t
mean that. I just don’t always think about what I’m saying. Please, let’s just try to be friends.”
“I don’t see
why you deserve another chance.”
right that I don’t deserve another chance, but I’d appreciate it if we could at least try to get along.”
Paula sighed, “You
aren’t going to give up, are you?”
Simon chuckled, “That’s
the point, dear.”
After the show, Simon
followed Paula to her dressing room.
“Are you stalking
me?” she asked in mock seriousness.
“I just, um, wanted
to know if you had any plans for this evening.”
but if you’re talking about another dinner, I really don’t think I’m up for it.”
understandable, but why don’t you just come over? We could watch a movie
or something. I just want to spend some time getting to know you because we’ve
worked together for a while now, and I know you no more than the American public.”
“Whatever, but you
better be nice.”
“I learned my lesson
on that one.”
